Do I need to visit China to register a company?

Usually not. Documents are signed and apostilled in your home country and filed in China by your lawyers, and many banks verify the legal representative by video. A visit is only needed if your chosen bank insists on meeting the legal representative in person.

What can be done remotely

  • Signing the articles of association and appointment documents
  • Notarising and apostilling your parent company documents
  • Filing for the business licence and carving company chops
  • Tax registration and invoicing setup

When a visit may be needed

Some banks still ask to meet the legal representative in person, and some districts require them to collect digital certificates. If so, we plan it into a single short trip.
