What does it cost to set up a company in China?

The cost of a WFOE has three parts: one-off setup fees (legal work, notarisation, chops, bank), registered capital that you fund over up to five years, and running costs such as office rent, payroll, accounting and the annual audit. We give a fixed written quote for the setup work.

1. One-off setup costs

  • Legal and filing work for the business licence
  • Notarisation and apostille of your documents at home
  • Carving the company chops
  • Bank account opening support

2. Registered capital

Not a fee, but money the shareholders put into the company, paid in within five years. See minimum registered capital.

3. Running costs

  • A registered office or lease
  • Salaries plus social insurance and housing fund
  • Monthly bookkeeping and tax filings
  • The annual audit and compliance filings
